Camp Ritchie 2011 Rules
[Camp Ritchie Home]
Please read!
Complying with camp rules is a requirement for attending Camp Ritchie. If you do not abide by the rules, you will be asked to leave.
Camp Rules include, but are not limited to:
- Only the cabins will be used for sleeping. Females in girls' cabins only, males in boys' cabins only. Sleeping in cars, at Inspiration Point, or any other area is not allowed. This direction comes from our bishopric and stake presidency. Exceptions need to be approved by the camp staff.
- For activities at the lake, wear modest swimwear. For women, this means swimwear that covers the same areas a one-piece swimsuit would. Swim trunks or shorts are appropriate for men. Avoid unnecessarily revealing attire.
- When not at the lake, avoid wearing only swimwear. Men should wear a shirt.
- Consider the service project on Saturday as mandatory. (This is the primary purpose of our camp.) We will have something to fit everyone's ability. While other activities are not mandatory, we strongly encourage participation to get the fullest experience from Camp Ritchie.
- It is not appropriate to plan other activities during church service on Sunday. If you choose not to attend, there are many areas around the camp where you can quietly meditate and worship as you please during this time. However, we hope you will join us!
- Pets are not allowed at Camp Ritchie.
- Do not bring firearms, firecrackers, or other explosive or incendiary material.
- Do not bring alcoholic beverages, tobacco, or any other drug, other than necessary prescription medications. All attendees are expected to honor the Church health code Word of Wisdom during camp.
- Church standards must be followed during Camp Ritchie. Use the For Strength of Youth pamphlet as a guide.
- Again, this list is not complete. The other rules are primarily common-sense. If you have questions about other rules of camp, please contact us!
